Lois Boyd was a Ziegfeld Follies showgirl who became one of Mack Sennett's bathing beauties

She was born Lois Harriet Brum in Oklahoma in October 5, 1904. After her parents divorced she moved to Los Angeles with her mother. Lois made her film debut in the 1919 comedy Among Those Present. Then she became one of Hal Roach's "Sunshine Girls". At the age of fifteen she married Ray Ramsey, a cameraman for the Eddie Cline Company. Their son, Ray Ramsey Jr, was born on March 2, 1921. Soon after she went to New York to appear in the Ziegfeld Follies. She was signed by Century Pictures and starred in the comedies Spring Fever and Sweet And Pretty. Lois also costarred with Monty Banks in several shorts including The Southbound Limited and Paging Love. In 1924 Mack Sennett chose her to be one his new bathing beauties.

The following year she became the leading lady in the popular "Ton Of Fun" comedy series. In the films Lois, who was five feet tall and weighed only 100 pounds, acted opposite three obese comedians - Frank Alexander, Hilliard Karr, and Bill "Kewpie" Ross. She was becoming a popular ingenue and in 1926 she signed a five year contract with producer Joe Rock. Lois got good reviews when she appeared in the dramas Wolves Of The Air and Thumbs Down. She divorced her husband and married orchestra leader Lou Erickson in July of 1927. Then she decided to quit acting and became a housewife. She gave birth to a daughter named Lorlee Lou in 1929. Lois lived a quiet life with her family in California. Her husband Lou passed away in 1984. She died on February 3, 1995 at the age of ninety.
