Pauline Brooks was a starlet who had a brief film career in the 1930s
She was born on October 1, 1912 in New York City. Her father, Marty Brooks, was a vaudeville actor and producer. At the age of sixteen she made her stage debut in the George White's Scandals. Then she was offered a five year contract at MGM. Pauline had bit parts in numerous movies including Beauty For Sale, Hollywood Party, and Student Tour. In 1935 she had a leading role in the comedy Make A Million. She also worked as a stand-in for Joan Crawford. Unfortunately her film career quickly stalled. Pauline returned to New York City where she continued to act in the theater. On September 24, 1946 she married Carl Bruck, a soldier in the Army. The couple, who had no children, moved to Pacoima, California in 1954. Sadly in the early 1960s she was diagnosed with cancer. She died from the disease on June 7, 1967 at the age of fifty-four. Pauline was buried at San Fernando Mission Cemetery in Mission Hills, California.
